From an unruly 18-year-old seeking escape and approval through martial arts, my journey has been one of profound transformation and discovery. Initially drawn to the serene practices of Qi Gong and Tai Chi Chuan, my path led me through the dynamic worlds of Aikido and Iaido. Under the guidance of a patient chief instructor and a host of senior mentors, my early years were shaped by discipline and rigorous training, often finding myself humbled on the mat.
My adventure into martial arts briefly paused as I answered the call of adventure, only to resurface with a deeper commitment to exploring the depths of Aiki, Filipino Stick and Knife, and Japanese Sword arts. In 2003, a pivotal moment arrived when I was invited into the Hoshin Roshi Ryu as a personal student of Dr. Glenn Morris, Soke. Our bond, centered around swordsmanship and mutual respect, lasted until his passing in 2006. It was then I was honored with the title of Kyoshi, a designation I hold dear.
Following Soke Morris's guidance, my exploration expanded into Bujinkan and Systema, enriching my practice with their unique philosophies and techniques. My dedication to Systema was honed through multiple workshops led by internationally recognized instructors, and in 2010, I began my role as an assistant instructor under Wes Manko. The journey through Bujinkan culminated in 2011 with the rank of Shodan, awarded by Kevin Millis. Further recognition came in 2013 as I was elevated to Godan, 5th Degree, and the title of Shihan in Hoshi Roshi Ryu. In 2015, I received the blue, or void belt, marking my contribution to the esoteric aspects of martial arts, a distinction shared by only a select few worldwide.
Beyond the dojo, my expertise extended into the realms of security, close protection, and executive body guarding, where I excelled in ensuring the safety and well-being of others. This facet of my career not only tested my martial arts skills in real-world scenarios but also deepened my understanding of personal integrity and the responsibility of protecting life.
At the core of my martial arts practice lies a deep-seated commitment to guiding others on their path to self-discovery and empowerment. Whether through the physical discipline of martial arts or the spiritual journey of meditation, my mission is to support and inspire those ready to embark on their own transformative journey.
If you're drawn to explore the depths of your own potential, both physically and spiritually, I invite you to reach out. Together, let's embark on a journey towards inner peace, resilience, and mastery.
